Users generally praise the product for its ability to prevent frizz and maintain silk presses in humid conditions, though some report issues with hair feeling heavy, crunchy, or reverting despite use. Many users emphasize that the product is heat-activated and works best when applied correctly before heat styling.

Amika The Shield protects hair from heat, humidity, and frizz with a super lightweight formula. So instead of making my hair gritty, crunchy, or dry like so many others I've tried, it leaves my hair soft, smooth, and sleek.

I have fine hair and this left my hair feeling heavy and icky.

Don’t forget it’s heat activated! Works optimally when heat is used after spraying.

I used the amika before flat ironing, and then went in with the Kenra spray and it made my hair revert and poof up, I wonder what I’m doing wrong
😊
Texas humidity tried me, but @amika The Shield won. 🛡️🥵 this stuff is no joke — my hair has never survived summer like this
